Before we start let us agree about the following:

That all pending issues with your leader it’s taking a place in his mind

In addition, if you go deeper in many of our life, sure we will find like the following:

  • Asking your wife to give you a feedback about home budget status.

  • Asking your son that today you want to review his exams result.

  • You reached to your office and sow one of your employees; at that time brain automatically start bringing all pending issues with this employee to the top of your brain and immediately you stopped him and start asking about all his pending issues.

So, I faced all above; therefore, I looked around to find the easiest principle that I can pass my message through it to all of my team. And to solve this type of usual problem step by step. So, starting from there I created the 1 RIYAL principle.

1 RIYAL principle is about tasks update, if someone gives you a 1 RIYAL to buy chocolate par for him, so this task will be in your hand, either you bring what he asked for, or you reject it, or your comeback saying OOPSS sorry I couldn't find what you’re looking for, or you sit and saying nothing, like others!!

During my weekly meeting with my team I called one of my team and I gave him 1 RIYAL and I asked him to bring a chocolate par but before the meeting started I told him don’t bring anything just only sit in front of me once you back.

He did exactly what I said to him, after that I looked to my team and I said;

Why he didn’t bring the chocolate? And if he didn’t find a chocolate why he didn’t give me the 1 RIYAL back? And Why he didn’t say anything? And dozens of Y's.

One minutes of silent I looked to my team and I started asking some of them about pending issues that they didn’t give me any feedback about it. And I said to them if 50% of you is doing same like this; that’s mean I need to have a computer in my brain to remind me about all pending issues that I have with all of you.

After that I withdraw another 1 RIYAL from my pocket and I said to them always remember this principle, and keep your leader updated all the time, keep him on line with the status without he’s asking for it, this is the easiest way to success and to get your leader appreciation.

Remember to put 1 RIYAL in your desk all the time so all the time your team will remember your principle without you reminding them.

Have fun with running your business,
